6 Trends To Try Before Spring

Are you tired of the cold weather? The silver lining on our snow cloud is a few more months of Winter fashion. Here are 6 trends you must try before the first day of Spring.

Military Trend

The military trend is one that we have seen repeatedly in the last few seasons, however it remains one of the most sought after trends that allows women to be both edgy and sexy at the same time. This year, military coats, golden buttons, exaggerated shoulders, and khakis and greens were seen on the runways of MaxMara, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry Prorsum. If you fear looking a bit masculine when sporting the military look, you can play down the masculine vibe by adding a feminine touch to your ensemble. Try pairing a military jacket with a pair of fitted jeans and sexy thigh-high boots, or try to soften the look with a lace dress underneath.

Faux Fur and Shearling

Faux fur and shearling fabrics were this season’s main embellishments, seen on everything from coats to boots to handbags. Chanel, Proenza Schouler, and Lanvin all displayed this latest trend in their winter collections. Fur vests are one of the most versatile winter pieces that can be worn casually during the daytime and can also jazz up an outfit for a night out on the town. If you love how warm your feet feel in a pair of UGG boots, imagine how cozy you will be in a shearling lined jacket! The shearling aviator jacket is the ‘it’ trend for this season and will help you achieve a rugged, yet chic look.

Leather

This year, big names such as Hermès, Prada, and Nicole Miller displayed leather jackets, skirts, dresses and additional accessories in their winter collections. In the past, leather has been viewed as a provocative fabric suited for those looking to achieve an edgy and alternative look. However, this season the use of leather has been refined to provide a more flirty and sophisticated feel.

Lace-Up Boots

The hottest trend in shoes this winter is the lace-up boot. Whether you prefer booties, peeptoe boots, or combat boots, this season’s lace-ups takes many forms suited for various personalities. These boots create the illusion of elongating your legs and can be worn with a wide range of styles from skinny jeans to skirts and dresses.

Oversized Cocktail Rings

This season, make a statement with your jewelry. Oversized cocktail rings are a great way to create a bold look and even add a splash of color to your winter wardrobe. Your ring should stand out, rather than just complement your outfit. And remember – the bigger the better! Add a little holiday sparkle by choosing rings with gemstones and crystals, or even white pearls.

Dark Nails

Essie’s winter collection dons an array of dark and dusky colors, perfect for the chilly weather. Some of my favorite picks from the collection are listed below:
