Reshma Shetty plays Divya Katdare on USA Network’s Royal Pains. Divya comes from the stereotypical rich Indian family; they vacation in the Hamptons and still believe in arranged marriages.
Reshma grew up very differently. Though Reshma was born in England, she was raised in Virginia. Like many desi kids in Virginia, she went to college at James Madison Univeristy, entering as a pre-med student. But after getting positive feedback at a few vocal competitions, she switched her major to opera performance. After a stint on Broadway, she switched to cable television.
The one thing Divya and Reshma have in common is that they both are wedding planning. Reshma takes us with her, as she figures out how to throw a rehearsal dinner in New York style.
Since debuting online in 2004, SAPNA Magazine's mission has been to be a platform for the South Asian American woman’s cultural identity: a place where desi American women can find inspiration and connection.
